About

I’m a versatile multimedia reporter with a passion for community news in NYC.

I’ve covered a range of beats, from transportation and local elections to arts and culture, for publications such as amNY Metro, the Queens Post and the Queens Ledger. My reporting on immigration and local businesses was recognized by the NY Press Association’s Better Newspaper Contest for two consecutive years.

Before that, I verified user-generated footage from all over the world using open-source intelligence tools at Storyful, a social media newswire. Much of my work focused on the war in Ukraine and combatting misinformation.

I hold a BA in Political Science from Stony Brook University, with a concentration in Political Psychology and double minors in Journalism and International Studies, with a focus on Latin America.

While attending SBU on Long Island, I freelanced for the LI Herald, interned at TBR News and contributed reporting to The Statesman. I also served as a copy editor for the Simons Center for Geometry and Physics and helped collect demographic data during the 2020 U.S. Census.

I was born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Now I split my time between Queens and Staten Island, spreading love to the outer boroughs.
